Encouraging Confusion
April 1, 2010
My novel, The Glendale Witch, didn’t make the third round in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest, which would normally be discouraging; but the two professional reviews it received were extremely encouraging.
One reviewer thought my exerpt was funny and fresh. The other said it was “just what the doctor ordered”. Both reviewers evinced a desire to read more than just the exerpt. Yet, The Glendale Witch didn’t get passed into the 3rd round where the full manuscript would have been available for reviewers to read.
So I’m encouraged; on the other hand, I’m confused. Befuddled, yet optimist.
I can live with that.
